HISTORY

1890-

Built during the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1890 by David Mandl and Rosa Aron, the building was used by a bank (Societatea Bancara Romana) in the 1930's and, later, poorly adapted for working class dwelling during the 1950's.

The beautiful metal gate, the windows from the building doors, and the balcony floors, still bear the inscription SBR (Societatea Bancara Romana).

We have preserved and restored the large double doors and the old parquet - which may squeak and crack under your feet. Everything else inside is brand new and top of the line, arranged with exquisite style.

The House

Casa Mandl is set in the very heart of the old city of Brasov, in the historic Council Square, and offers stylish accommodation with wonderful views of the Black Church and the Tampa Mountain.

Each apartment, recently renovated, features a living room with a large sofa, armchairs,  a flat-screen TV with cable channels as well as free Wifi. Guests can make use of the fully-equipped kitchenette or kitchen (including dishwasher, microwave oven, induction stove, etc.), coming with a designated dining area. The bathrooms offer a modern shower or an elegant bathtub. A courtyard balcony is accessible for outdoor relaxation. One apartment has a balcony opening on the Council Square.

The Black Church is located 200 meters away. A grocery shop and a restaurant can be found within a 5-minute walk. Public parking can also be found within walking distance. Braşov Train Station is set 4 km away from Casa Mandl.

Apartments

The apartments, recently redesigned and furnished, are located in the heart of the Old Town of Brasov - Piata Sfatului.

The apartments reside in an 1890 building, Casa Mandl, and have a gorgeous view of the square, with the Black Church (Biserica Neagra) to the left and the Council House (Casa Sfatului) to the right.

These apartments are the ultimate luxury that Brasov has to offer in the absolutely most charming central location.
